This facility was built to the highest standards by

the U.S. Navy and at one time employed 1,000

workers. It was located strategically well inside

the protected waters of the Port of San Juan,

which has been a strategic Caribbean port for

cruise ships, container vessels and the military

(since the 1500's). San Juan is also a major international airline hub which allows us to bring in expertise and parts and supplies with no duty from U.S. mainland.

Nicky Van at Port Caribe

"We bring in the right teams of specialists from Europe and/or the U.S. to team with our local tradesmen in order to deliver world-class service."

John Spencer, President

Private Vessel or Commercial

Encompassing over 40-acres, our shipyard facility can accommodate the largest vessels, with up to 1,500 linear feet alongside. Our hauling capabilities will enable us to safely dry dock up to 660'.
Port Caribe Shipyard will soon be home to the finest marine contractors worldwide who offer the highest quality service at competitive rates while meeting your schedule requirements. We draw on European and American Certified Contractors available to meet your refit and repair needs.
Our unique business model allows our customers to bring in their yacht builder (for warranty & repair), yacht managers and preferred sub-contractors to have participation in their yard period.

Puerto Rico is the regional service hub for many marine equipment manufacturers such as Caterpillar and MTU, for example.  And the local trades have a long tradition in ship maintenance for sophisticated military and commercial ships.

Chances are that you will know our project managers and staff from prior shipyard work in the U.S. or Europe. And soon, you will enjoy knowing the new team we have assembled in San Juan.
